Once your activation email from Quokka Net arrives, your Neoloop service is ready to use. Neoloop now runs the Lynham Networks estates, also known as Lightning Wholesale, so this guide covers them too. It shows you how to connect your router to your Neoloop fibre box, set it up, and what to check if it won’t connect.
Quick start
- Find your Neoloop fibre box (ONT). It’s usually mounted on a wall inside your home.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from the box’s Ethernet port to the WAN port on your router.
- Set your router’s internet connection type to PPPoE, and enter the username and password from your activation email.
- Turn on the router and wait a few minutes for it to connect.
If you bought your router from us, you’ll usually need to finish its setup wizard: connect to its Wi-Fi (the name and password are on its label), or open its app, and when it asks for the connection type choose PPPoE and enter the details from your activation email.
Your fibre box
Your fibre box (an ONT, or optical network terminal) can be one of several makes and models, most commonly Adtran or Ubiquiti. Whichever you have, the fibre from the street plugs into it, and your router plugs into its Ethernet port. Don’t unplug or bend the fibre cable.
What the lights on your box mean:
Set up your router
Neoloop connects with PPPoE, so your router needs the username and password from your activation email. They usually look like [email protected].
- If you bought your router from us, follow its setup wizard, as in the quick start above.
- If you’re bringing your own, check it’s on our list of routers that work on Neoloop. Our router setup guides show where to enter the PPPoE details.
Not working?
First, check for a Neoloop outage. If there’s one in your area, there’s nothing to fix at home.
- Check the box has power, and its lights against the guides above.
- Check your router is plugged into the box with its WAN port, and the cable is firmly in at both ends.
- Check the router is set to PPPoE, and the username and password are typed exactly as in your activation email.
- Turn off your router and the fibre box, wait a minute, then turn the box on first and the router a couple of minutes later.
Still not working? Report a problem or call us on 1800 663 977, and tell us your box’s make and which lights are on. More about Neoloop plans is on our Neoloop page.
