What is Neoloop?

Neoloop is a privately owned fibre network, separate from the nbn, in selected residential developments. It acquired Lynham Networks, so Lynham estates (also known as Lightning Wholesale) are now part of Neoloop.

It is a wholesale network, so you buy your internet from a retail provider like Quokka Net. Neoloop also runs the VostroNet and Frontier networks, which have their own plans.

Unlike many providers, we're on nine networks, so if you move, there's a good chance we can come with you.

Getting connected to Neoloop

Four steps from "is my place on Neoloop?" to online.

  1. Check your address

The checker confirms your place is on Neoloop and which plans you can get.

  2. Pick a plan and sign up

All online, $0 activation and month-to-month. Add a router from us, or bring your own.

  3. We order it with Neoloop

If your address needs a new development or new line fee from Neoloop, we'll tell you before we go ahead.

  4. Plug in and hop online

When your activation email arrives, plug your router into the Ethernet port on your Neoloop box.

Your Neoloop box

Your fibre connection box (an ONT) can be one of several makes and models, most commonly Ubiquiti or Adtran. Whichever you have, your router plugs into its Ethernet port.

Bringing your own router

Your router needs a WAN Ethernet port and must connect using PPPoE, which uses a username and password. Routers locked to another provider may not work. Or add a router from us when you sign up.

Neoloop questions, answered

Is Neoloop the same as the nbn?

No. Neoloop is a separate, privately owned network. Like the nbn, it is a wholesale network: you buy your internet from a retail provider such as Quokka Net, not from Neoloop itself.

Can I choose my own provider on Neoloop?

Yes. Neoloop is open to many retail providers, so you can choose the one that suits you. Check your address and we will confirm whether we can connect your place.

How do I know if my address is on Neoloop?

Use the address checker on this page. If your estate was on Lynham Networks or Lightning Wholesale, it is now on Neoloop.

What happened to Lynham Networks?

Neoloop acquired Lynham Networks, and Lynham estates are now part of Neoloop. Your estate keeps its fibre, and you can order Neoloop plans for it here.

Are there any connection fees?

Quokka Net charges $0 activation on Neoloop plans. Lynham Networks may charge a $300 new development fee if you are the first connection in a newly developed area, or the first connection in an established area where the number of premises has increased. If your address is classed as a subsequent install, there is a $299 new line fee. We will tell you about either fee before we go ahead.

Do I need a special router for Neoloop?

No special router, but it needs a WAN Ethernet port and must support PPPoE, which connects with a username and password. Or add a router from us when you sign up, and enter the username and password from your activation email in its setup wizard.

What speed will I get?

Not every Neoloop address can get every speed. The address checker shows the plans available at yours. Each plan lists its typical evening speed, which is the speed most customers can expect between 7pm and 11pm. Your actual speed also depends on your Wi-Fi, your devices and what you are connecting to.

What if Neoloop is down?

Check for Neoloop outages and our service status, then try a few quick fixes at home. If it's still down, contact your provider: they raise the fault with the network for you.

Check for Neoloop outages →

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Neoloop plans are month-to-month, so you can change speed or leave without an exit fee.

What happens if I move house?

We'll help you through the whole move. Tell us your new address and move date, and we'll check what's available there and order a new service at your new place, ready for your move. If your new place is on a different network, you choose from the plans available there. If you're already with us, we'll close your old service once the new one is live, so you're not paying twice.

Not sure which network you're Quokk-nected to?

Totally normal. Neoloop runs fibre in selected residential developments, and since it acquired Lynham Networks, Lynham estates (also known as Lightning Wholesale) are part of the family too. Pop your address into the checker and we'll tell you in about 20 seconds.

Not on Neoloop? No worries. We connect nbn and eight other networks, and our main address checker will show you every plan at your place.
