Who is Quokka Net?

Quokka Net Pty Ltd (ACN 664 851 558) is a 100% Australian-owned internet service provider offering residential nbn, private fibre, mobile and home phone services. It is backed by parent company URL Networks Pty Ltd, an Australian telecommunications provider with more than 15 years in the market. Head office is in Melbourne, Victoria.

Which networks does Quokka Net connect?

Quokka Net supplies internet over nbn, SUPA Networks (formerly Fibre Corp), Opticomm (including Telstra Velocity, LBNco, OPENetworks and Pivit Networks), VostroNet, Vision Network, ASN Telecom, Neoloop (formerly Lynham Networks), Frontier Networks and Summit Internet. That covers most private fibre estates and apartment buildings that the major retailers do not service.

How much does nbn cost with Quokka Net?

nbn plans start at $49/month for the first 6 months (then $65/month) on the 25 Mbps tier. 500 Mbps is $74/month (then $85), 750 Mbps is $84/month (then $98), and 1000 Mbps is $98/month (then $108). The 2 Gbps Hyperfast plan is $155/month (then $165). All plans include unlimited data, $0 activation and no lock-in contract. Prices include GST.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Every Quokka Net internet, mobile and home phone service is month-to-month with no lock-in contract and no early exit fee. You can change speed tiers or cancel at any time.

Can I get a free upgrade to full fibre?

If your address currently uses Fibre to the Node (FTTN) or Fibre to the Curb (FTTC), you may be eligible for a free nbn upgrade to Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) when you order a 500 Mbps or faster plan. Check your address and we will confirm eligibility before your order is submitted.

Do I need to buy a modem?

No — you can bring your own router as long as it has a WAN Ethernet port, supports PPPoE or IPoE (DHCP), and is not locked to a previous provider. If you would rather buy one, the Netcomm NF20 (Wi-Fi 6) is $209 and the TP-Link Archer A6 is $99, both with shipping included. For 2 Gbps Hyperfast you will need a router with a 2.5 Gbps or faster WAN port.

Can I keep my existing phone number?

Yes. Home phone numbers can be transferred for a $30 simple number port (CAT A), or you can take a new number at no cost. Mobile numbers can be ported free of charge — we apply additional identity verification on every mobile port to protect against unauthorised transfers.
